Support BJBE
G'milut Chasadim (acts of loving kindness) is one of BJBE's five core values. It's the obligation to give away three things: time to make the world a better place, money to ease someone's pain, and kindness to heal a world that is broken.
BJBE offers a variety of opportunities to make valuable contributions. Support for our synagogue is a crucial form of tzedakah, bringing meaning to our lives and sustaining the Judaism we love. It is through the generosity of our congregants that BJBE has and will continue to thrive for generations, l'dor vador.
Thank you for your generosity.
If you have any questions about how to give, please contact our Development Manager Judy Berkeley.
A Letter from Judy Berkeley, Development Manager
Thank you for being an essential part of the Congregation BJBE family. Your continued membership and support mean the world to us. We are deeply grateful that you've chosen BJBE as your spiritual home, and we are honored to stand with you as part of this vibrant, compassionate, and dynamic community.
BJBE is more than a synagogue. It's a sanctuary for the soul and a center of learning and justice. It's a place where voices rise in song, where we hold space for questions, where meaningful action takes root. With your support, we've continued to provide sacred moments through prayer and music, offer opportunities for lifelong learning, stand together for social justice, and create a welcoming space for all.
Support for our synagogue is a crucial form of tzedakah, helping bring meaning to our lives and perpetuating the Judaism we love, and it is through the generosity of our congregants that BJBE has thrived for generations.
What is most important to you at BJBE? Maybe it's our beautiful facility and the sense of safety and security we feel here. Or maybe you value robust Israel programming and opportunities to travel together. For some, it's the magnificent music we hear every Shabbat and during the holidays. Maybe you're a believer (and active participant) in lifelong Jewish learning and you want to support our Chava Center or our JLC, programs that help educate our children on their journeys to become b'nai mitzvah, confirmands, and then adult learners themselves. For some of us, it's the friendships and connections we've made through all of the simchas we've shared.
Whatever it is that you love most here at BJBE, please consider making a transformative gift that would go a long way to helping us achieve financial sustainability in this moment in time. Your generosity is what allows us to go from strength to strength, from generation to generation, l'dor vador.
Annual Giving Opportunities
Become a Pillar of Our Community
Thank you so much for your continued membership and support of Congregation BJBE. We appreciate your ongoing generosity and invite you to consider a gift above the stated dues amount. Please note that every dollar you give in excess of your membership dues allows us to respond to the needs of our members who depend on our spiritual community as an oasis, a place of spiritual inspiration, a place to ask meaningful questions, a place to take action against injustice.
Consider Giving at a Leadership Level
We invite you to deepen your commitment by contributing at one of our giving tiers. While dues are crucial, they only cover around 43% of our operating budget. To sustain all that we do—from pastoral care to education, from music to mitzvot—we rely on the generosity of those who are able to give beyond their dues. We are encouraging every member to give generously in the true spirit of community and shared responsibility.
Donors at the Anchor level and above will be recognized (unless anonymity is preferred) and invited to exclusive receptions with clergy and senior staff. If you have already been contributing at one of our giving tiers, we invite you to consider increasing your commitment to reach the next leadership level:
Visionaries: $36,000+ Pillars: $7,200 - $12,599
Guardians: $18,000 - $35,999 Supporters: $5,400 - $7,199
Stewards: $12,600 - $17,999 Anchors: $3,600 - $5,399
We have also developed meaningful ways for you to give throughout the year with our Annual Appeals: High Holy Days, Year-End, Purim/Passover, and Spring Gala.

BJBE's Endowment Fund
Donating to the Endowment Fund creates a bridge to the future for BJBE. It is both practical and visionary. The BJBE Endowment Fund ensures we will continue to meet the needs of our synagogue for generations. A strong Endowment Fund is essential in ensuring the long-term health of our congregation and to support, educate, sustain, and inspire our community for years to come.
Tribute Gifts
In Jewish culture, it is traditional to mark significant occasions and milestones by giving tzedakah (charity). We hope you will consider donating to one of BJBE's funds in celebration or commemoration of important days in your life or in memory of a loved one.
