JLC K - 7th Grade
JLC Sunday
Kindergarten - 6th grade
JLC Sundays are filled with engaging and meaningful learning opportunities around Jewish holidays, tradition, culture, Hebrew language, and Israel. Each week begins with "Boker Tov," an all-school, camp-style assembly full of music and ruach (joyful energy) that introduces the Hebrew word of the week. Grade levels participate in t'filiah—an authentic prayer experience that is led with music. Each grade has family days where adults are invited to learn with their child(ren).
JLC AfterSchool
3rd - 7th grade
In addition to JLC Sundays, 3rd - 6th graders attend JLC AfterSchool on either Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. They participate in t'filah, a musical learning service. 3rd graders learn the Hebrew aleph-bet and begin to read phonetically. Our 4th - 6th grade curriculum reinforces and builds on reading skills and develops synagogue fluency, enabling learners to read and comprehend the prayers of our worship service.
7th graders are given the opportunity to learn with our clergy as they deepen their connection to Judaism and continue their studies as part of the b'nai mitzvah year. They attend JLC AfterSchool on either Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons as well.
5th & 6th Grade Virtual Hebrew Program
To support our families and the individual needs of our learners, we offer the option to participate in JLC Hebrew online—this includes an expectation of attending one Shabbat service each month. Hebrew sessions via Zoom are offered Sunday, Monday, and Thursday afternoon/evenings based on teacher schedules and learner availability.
Post-B'nai Mitzvah Learning
We offer a multitude of opportunities for our students to continue their Jewish education as they head into high school. Click here to learn about what the JLC offers 8th - 12th graders.
